BIOGRAPHY: A School of Quiet

Belgium has been furnishing us with surprising and refreshing rock music for some years. ?A school of quiet? fits the category overly well. The band was assembled early 2005, from members of hardcore-rock outfit .calibre (Daniel: vocals, Niko: guitar), pop-rock band Zornik (Davy: drums) and wildcard bass player Igor.

Vocalist Daniel and guitarist Niko have earned at least some credits having
performed on an impressive amount of shows in the European underground and on
the bigger stages in bands as Facedown and .calibre over the past 10 years. People
that have seen them on stage know that their live shows were fierce to say the least.

An everlasting search for musical renewal and progression has led them to Davy?s
drumming who has been playing all Belgian stages with bands as Zornik; Tom
Helsen, Nona Mez, etc... Together with newcomer Igor?s bass ? who has performed
on many a stage as a hired gun (Patsy Blackstone) ? they started looking for the
screeching noise that fulfilled all their needs.

Separately, they all had been experimenting with new sounds for some time. When
they finally decided to team up and put those ideas into motion everything seemed to match perfectly. Eventually they developed a flow that works well for all four, as the enthusiasm and unexpected musical bends can vouch for. The apparent drive for
creative audio makes the songs sound willing and eager but never pushy. It all
sounds wonderfully retro and the combination of styles is often remarkable.

?A school of quiet? blends seventies guitar rock with surf and blues elements that can
sound either chill or rather fat ?n fuzzy. And anything in between.

If the experience of the band members is anything to go on, we can expect some
insane and quality live stuff from ?A school of quiet?. Keep an eye out for their shows.
It?s gonna be grand
